At 20, 2Pac was already an angry young man and the album’s uncompromising lyrics about ghetto life soon came to the attention of moral watchdogs like Vice President Dan Quayle, who singled out 269 Shakur the album during a re-election year as an example of the breakdown of family values in the recording industry.
