Added in 1989, Sommerfest offers a quick-service way to purchase German sausages, beer, and pretzels. It is popular among loyal guests, but is still being discovered by other visitors because it is far back in the pavilion. The seating never seems to be enough, but tables are easily shared with other guests. The menu has changed over the years, as has the size of the portions. Big soft pretzels are now being sold by the beer stand at the front right of the pavilion, but Sommerfest still serves German bratwurst, a variety of German beers, and German desserts. The restaurant recently started offering German potato salad or Paprika Chips as a side. You can get a plate of Bratwurst on a bun with side of sauerkraut $7.49, a German version of Macaroni and Cheese $3.79, Curry Wurst with House Made Paprika Chips $9.30, Frankfurter with Roll and Sauerkraut $7.29, Cold Potato Salad $3.29, House-made Paprika Chips $3.00, Black Forest Cake $4.19, and Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce $4.19. Soft Drinks, specialty cocktails, and beer and wine selections are also available: Radeberger Pilsner $8.25, Radeberger Pilsner in Souvenir Mug $12.00, Altenmunster Oktoberfest $8.25, Altenmunster Oktoberfest in Souvenir Mug $12.00, Schofferhofer Grapefruit Beer $8.25, Berentzen Apfel Shot $8.00, Barenjager Honey & Bourbon $9.00, J¤germeister Shot $8.00, Selback Riesling-Red Label Wine $7.50, Assorted Fountain Beverages $3.29.
