Nagoya Map Tourist Attractions on The album, The Soulful Moods of Marvin Gaye, released in June 1961 immediately tanked. Gaye’s first modest success came in July 1962 with the single Stubborn Kind of Fellow followed in December 1962 with Hitch Hike and in April 1963 with the Top Ten hit, Pride and Joy. During this period, Gaye earned a paltry $60 a week as part of the Motown stable of stars bus tour featuring Little Stevie Wonder, the Marvelettes, the Supremes, and Mary Wells. Still unsure of his position within the Motown label and constantly at odds with Berry Gordy’s plans for his career, Gaye spent 1964 churning out singles like the now-classic How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You) and his first charting album, Together, a series of duets with Mary Wells. 1965 was even more productive with Gaye reaching Number 8 with singles I’ll Be Dog-Gone and Ain’t That Peculiar. In December 1966, Gaye teamed with Kim Weston for the Top Twenty hit, It Takes Two. That same month, Motown paired Gaye with Tammi Terrell, a 20-year-old former member of the James Brown revue, and the chemistry was instantaneous. Nagoya Map Tourist Attractions 2016.
