FALLS

It is not true that travel with cats always land on their feet. The fall may be so short that the cat has no space in which to turn, or some obstacle may break his fall in the middle of the turn. The cat may be stunned before he falls and unable to right himself. Also, the fall may be so great that the cat’s landing on his feet doesn’t help. He may fall three stories and hardly get hurt. He may fall from a chair and break one or more bones.

In addition to broken bones, a cat may be internally injured by a fall. A cat knows about broken bones at once. He may show no sign of internal injury for hours and then become seriously ill.
