Karachi Map on Hinkley, Ineka Margaret (V) The discovery of the young rock musician’s decomposed body in the Bongil Bongil State Forest 16 kilometers south of Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia, on November 5, 1996, was central in fueling official speculation that a serial killer was active in the area. Hinkley, a 20-year-old bass guitarist-drummer-singer with rock bands like Proteus and Sour Puss, unexpectedly left her home in the Melbourne suburb of Eltham on October 25 without telling her parents where she was going. According to her father, she loved to hitchhike and often smoked marijuana while doing so. The rock musician’s semi-nude body was found by a Road Traffic Authority worker lying face-up in the bush some fifty yards from a Pacific Highway rest area. Naked from the waist down, Hinkley was wearing a purple mohair jumper and matching shoes. Her purple tights were found nearby, and the contents of her pink canvass backpack were strewn about the area. An autopsy determined that Hinkley had been strangled and possibly dead for up to nine days. Karachi Map 2016.
