It is a beautiful evening here in Venice, and I’m gonna check out the Grand Canal. The sun is shining. There’s cute little bridges everywhere. There’s sidewalk cafes. There’s flowers just pouring out of people’s windows. This right here is a fairy tale land. I can’t even imagine that this city has been here since the 10th and 11th centuries.
And it’s looked the exact same since that time. It’s perfect. This is like the most beautiful city in the world. What’s crazy to think about is that there are no roads. There are no cars. The only way to get around this town is by taking a boat or by walking. This is a pretty cool thing to run into. It’s a gondola traffic jam. Everybody’s in a good mood ’cause you’re just kind of floating along. How can you ever be in a bad mood in Venice? I gotta come back here some day.
Venice – St Mark’s Basilica
Right behind me is the gigantic and beautiful Saint Mark’s Cathedral. Let’s go check it out. Back in the day this was the political center of the Venice, and now it’s the center for socializing and having fun. And there’s cafes, and people.
Everybody just mulling about, and right behind me. I am now gonna go inside the Basilica, and unfortunately there’s no cameras allowed, but I have heard that the terrace up there has one of the best views in town, and that’s where I can have the camera. Let’s go. This is beautiful. The view from up here is stunning. Saint Mark’s Square definitely lived up to all my expectations. This place is a must-see.
